In the 1930s, retired teacher Violet Toph walked the hills of Ripley County collecting family histories door to door. Her notes fill more than 6,000 sleeved pages kept at the RCHS library. Search the name index below to find the page numbers you need, then order copies by mail.

Include payment: a $10.00 research donation plus $1.00 for each page copied, by check or money order.
Mail your request with a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE). About $1.00 in postage usually covers ten pages.

The Toph Papers are a collection of loose, sleeved pages, not a published book, and were recently re-indexed to match the sleeved pages. The online search is built from the index PDFs; if anything looks different, the PDF for that letter is the official copy.
